On June 14, 1985, Pedro and Agustín Almodóvar founded EL DESEO.
The Almodóvar brothers had just finished filming Matador , which had been preceded by legendary titles such as Pepi, Luci, Bom, Entre Tinieblas, Laberinto de pasiones or Qué he hecho yo para merecer esto?, and they set themselves the goal of producing the next script written by Pedro. This is how La ley del deseo was born, their first film as producers. La ley… was presented in the Panorama section of the 1987 Berlin Film Festival, the specialized press praised it and international distributors showed great interest.
