Tom Clement

Tom’s video career began by making eccentric PSAs for his middle school’s morning broadcast in hopes of impressing his cool older friends. While he failed at that particular goal, his work has since appeared on A&E Docs, Vice News Tonight, Newsweek, Smithsonian Channel, and The Pulitzer Center. With Scripps News Longform, Tom is currently directing Projecting Protest, a 22-minute documentary investigating the rise in unsanctioned light projection activism and exploring the boundaries of free speech. This story upends assumptions about what is legal and previews what might need to be tolerated to retain the right of dissent.
