Alimo
ALIMO was born in 1977 in Japan, an artist, Estonian animation historian and scholar of comparative arts based in Japan and Estonia. Currently Professor of New Media & Image at the Aichi University of the Arts. He had been a theoretical and practical researcher of animation as a visiting researcher at the Estonian Academy of Arts for two years from 2012, and in 2019 he wrote ethnographic animation history and obtained a Ph.D. from the Tokyo University of the Arts. His animated works focusing on a Fairy tales and a Play have visions of ‘Magnetic field’ based on “Animation Tableau,” the original method for creating animation. His works had shown in museums and international film festivals in more than 35 countries. He also has been published scholarly articles on an animation under the real name, and his activities involve the coexistence of historiographical theory and creative practice.
