Edith Jorisch

Edith Jorisch is a screenwriter and director based in Montreal, known for her work in fiction, documentary, and VR films. Her creations provide a human and bittersweet perspective on contemporary societal vices. After completing her studies in screenwriting and television at UQAM, she directed her first feature-length documentary, THE HEIR (2016), in 2016. Edith gained recognition when she appeared on the Canadian talk show "Tout le monde en parle" to promote her film, which received Gemini Awards for Best Director and Best Documentary. The documentary was broadcasted in Canada and internationally (Télé-Québec, Radio-Canada, RDI, TV5 Monde, TF1, HISTOIRE) and received acclaim at various international film festivals, including a premiere at FIFA. Her latest short, MOTHERS & MONSTERS (2023), has been selected the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma 2023.
