Denmark’s CPH:LAB Opens Submissions for 2024-2025 Talent Development Program
CPH:LAB, the distinguished talent development program by CPH:DOX in Denmark, has announced its call for submissions for the 2024-2025 edition. This program is designed to foster creative risk-taking and collaboration across various sectors, supporting visionary projects that push the boundaries of documentary storytelling in the digital age.
The deadline for submissions is June 21, 2024, with results announced in August. Successful applicants will join a six-month incubator program starting in September 2024, culminating in a public presentation of their early-stage prototypes at the CPH:DOX festival in March 2025. The program is a blend of onsite workshops in Copenhagen and online mentoring sessions.
CPH:LAB is open to filmmakers, artists, and creative technologists, primarily from Europe, though a limited number of spots are available for participants from non-European countries. Each year, up to nine projects, with up to two participants per project, are selected. Participants will be guided by Mark Atkin, the Head of Studies, along with a team of international mentors.
The program includes several key sessions: an online orientation meeting in September, a residential rapid development workshop in Copenhagen in October, individual mentoring and peer-to-peer sessions from November to February, and a final public presentation in March.
The tuition fee is 3750 DKK (approximately 500 EUR) per participant, covering all sessions and mentoring. CPH:LAB provides accommodation and meals during residential workshops, but participants must cover their travel expenses. Scholarships are available for qualifying participants from selected countries, covering the tuition fee entirely.
Interested parties are encouraged to apply for financial support from their national or regional funding bodies. Additional participants beyond the core team can join by individual negotiation, though they must cover their own costs.
