The Telluride Film Festival, one of the most prestigious film events in the USA, has unveiled its official line-up for 2024, showcasing an array of highly anticipated world premieres and celebrated documentaries. Running from August 30 to September 2, the festival will present close to 60 features, shorts, and revival programmes, as well as special filmmaker tributes and panels.

Among the key world premieres are Edward Berger’s "Conclave," a political thriller set in the Vatican, RaMell Ross’ adaptation of Colson Whitehead’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel "Nickel Boys," and "Better Man," a musical biopic about singer Robbie Williams directed by Michael Gracey.

Documentary highlights include Ken Burns' "Leonardo Da Vinci," exploring the life and genius of the Renaissance artist, and Kevin Macdonald’s "One To One: John & Yoko," offering a new perspective on the iconic couple. R. J. Cutler’s "Martha," chronicling the life of Martha Stewart, is another notable entry in this year’s documentary selections.

In addition to the world premieres, several highly acclaimed films from this year's Cannes Film Festival will be part of the Telluride line-up. Sean Baker's "Anora," Mohammad Rasoulof's "The Seed Of The Sacred Fig," and Jacques Audiard's "Emilia Pérez" stand out among these selections.

Joshua Oppenheimer’s "The End," a contemplative film dealing with existential themes, and Tim Fehlbaum’s "September 5," a dystopian drama, are also featured prominently in the main programme.

The festival continues its tradition of recognizing outstanding contributions to cinema, with the Silver Medallion Awards being presented to director Jacques Audiard, who will attend with his film "Emilia Pérez," actress Saoirse Ronan, in town for "The Outrun," and renowned editor Thelma Schoonmaker. These tributes include interviews and selected film clips honoring their careers.

Kenneth Lonergan, this year's guest director, will present a curated selection of classic films, including "Arch Of Triumph" by Lewis Milestone and Stanley Kubrick’s "Barry Lyndon."

Telluride’s special screenings will include Jean Cocteau’s 1946 classic "Beauty And The Beast" and Sean Baker’s "Prince Of Broadway." The festival will also honor French film company Les Films du Losange with the Special Medallion award, accompanied by a screening of "Misericordia."

With a diverse line-up ranging from biopics and documentaries to thought-provoking dramas and Cannes favorites, the 51st edition of the Telluride Film Festival promises to be a major highlight on the global film calendar.
