Fest Anča 2025: Entry Call for Slovakia’s Animation Festival

Fest Anča International Animation Festival in Slovakia, an Academy Awards® Qualifying Festival, has opened its call for entries for 2025. Submissions, accepted via FilmFreeway until January 31, 2025, include animated shorts and music videos completed after January 1, 2023. Earlybird submissions are free until November 30, 2024, with fees applying thereafter.

Fest Anča International Animation Festival, the sole Academy Awards® Qualifying Festival in Slovakia, has officially opened submissions for its 2025 edition. Filmmakers can submit animated short films and music videos created after January 1, 2023, with English subtitles required for all entries.

Submissions are being accepted exclusively through FilmFreeway from October 31, 2024, to January 31, 2025. The process includes three phases: earlybird submissions, available until November 30, 2024, are free of charge. A €5 fee applies to entries submitted between December 1 and December 31, 2024, while a €10 fee applies to late submissions registered in January 2025.

Fest Anča 2025 features several prestigious awards, including:

  • Best Animated Short (€1500)
  • Best Student Animated Short (€1000)
  • Best Animated Music Video (€1000)
  • Best Animated Short for Children (€1000)
  • Best Slovak Animated Short (€1500)

As an Academy Awards® Qualifying Festival, winners of select categories may gain eligibility for the Oscars®.
