Semana de Cine 2024 in Argentina Features Cannes Winners Across Three Days
For over 15 years, the Semana de Cine has served as a cultural bridge between the Cannes Film Festival and Argentina, offering local audiences a chance to experience some of the best films recognized by the iconic French festival. In 2024, the festival will once again bring its unique selection of Cannes highlights to Buenos Aires, taking place at the historic Cine Gaumont from November 22 to 24.
This year’s lineup features five acclaimed films, all of which received major awards at Cannes. Audiences will have the opportunity to watch the Palme d’Or-winning "Anora" by Sean Baker, a poignant narrative that captivated Cannes jurors. The festival will also showcase "All We Imagine as Light", directed by Payal Kapadia, which won the Grand Prix, and "Emilia Perez", Jacques Audiard’s compelling drama that earned both the Jury Prize and the Collective Acting Award for its ensemble cast.
