Going European 2025: Co-Production Training for Series Writers in Former Yugoslavia Opens for Entries
Going European 2025, an innovative co-production training programme, has opened applications for its latest edition. Focused on fostering international collaborations in live-action TV series, the programme is particularly targeted at writers from the former Yugoslavia. Selected participants will undergo a year-long training that includes exposure to major European industry events, culminating in a pitch at CineLink Drama during the Sarajevo Film Festival in August 2025.
This programme is a collaborative effort between key industry players, including the CNC (France), Series Mania (France), Conecta Fiction Entertainment (Spain), and the Sarajevo Film Festival (Bosnia and Herzegovina). It is supported by Creative Europe MEDIA, ensuring participants access robust resources and expertise.
The initiative seeks to enhance participants' skills in writing, co-development, and co-production, emphasizing legal, regulatory, contractual, and editorial challenges of international series production. Five teams will be selected, with three chosen by the CNC and one each by Conecta Fiction Entertainment and CineLink Industry Days. CineLink specifically encourages applications from teams within the former Yugoslavia region, comprising Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia.
Selected teams will gain the opportunity to present their projects in a wildcard slot at the CineLink Drama Pitch, a highly regarded platform that connects creators with industry stakeholders.
Applicants are required to submit a series concept in its early development stage, including a synopsis, treatment, and motivation letter. Teams must consist of representatives from at least two different nationalities and demonstrate prior writing or directing experience. No production company attachment is required.
Applications will be accepted until January 6, 2025.
Participants will engage in events across Europe:
- Series Mania, March 21–28, 2025, in Lille, France
- Conecta Fiction & Entertainment, June 18–21, 2025, in Toledo, Spain
- CineLink Industry Days, August 2025, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
This carefully structured schedule ensures comprehensive exposure to key industry practices and opportunities to network with peers and professionals.
The programme includes hands-on training in co-creation (writing, directing, artistic collaboration) and co-production challenges (rights, financing, and distribution). It also integrates a think tank component to encourage knowledge exchange among participants and industry experts.
