The second edition of Slano Film Days, held in Croatia from June 17–21, 2025, will feature workshops, lectures, and screenings connecting filmmakers of global renown with emerging talents. Directed by Miro Purivatra, this event focuses on film as an art form and fosters a collaborative environment supported by regional film centers and the Sarajevo Film Festival.

The second edition of Slano Film Days will take place in the picturesque settings of Slano and the Elaphiti Islands, Croatia, from June 17 to June 21, 2025. This unique film event, conceptualized and directed by Miro Purivatra, offers a platform for creative exchange between emerging filmmakers and established industry icons.

Slano Film Days is designed to prioritize the artistic essence of cinema over its commercial aspects. Through an array of lectures, workshops, film screenings, and informal discussions, the festival creates an atmosphere where seasoned professionals and young talents can share ideas and inspire each other. "Slano Film Days is a unique experience," remarked last year’s guest, Alfonso Cuarón, a five-time Academy Award winner. “This is a community of filmmakers and actors of different cultural backgrounds and generations who have come together to share different approaches in their creative impulses."

The 2025 edition has invited 13 film professionals to lead workshops and lectures across various disciplines. These include six actors, five directors, and two cinematographers from across the Balkan region. Among them are:

  • Actors: Iva Babić (Croatia), Yllka Gashi (Kosovo*), Marko Grabež (Serbia), Maja Izetbegović (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Klara Kuk (Slovenia), and Mišo Obradović (Montenegro).
  • Directors: Gregor Božić (Slovenia), Jelena Gavrilović (Serbia), Samir Karahoda (Kosovo*), Ivan Marinović (Montenegro), and Nebojša Slijepčević (Croatia).
  • Cinematographers: Magdalena Ptiček (Croatia) and Emilija Gašić (Serbia).

The festival enjoys significant regional support, with partnerships from the Sarajevo Film Festival and regional film centers, including the Croatian Audiovisual Center, Film Center Serbia, Film Center of Montenegro, and the Slovenian Film Center. This collaboration underlines the festival’s role as a unifying force for the Balkan film industry.

The final participant list will be unveiled on March 15, 2025. For additional details, including the 2025 Participants section, visit the event's official platform.
