The film “Ilmatar” is inspired by the first rune of the Karelian-Finnish epic “Kalevala” and shows the birth of Ilmatar (daughter of air), the emergence of the world and the entire universe around the heroine. Ilmatar emerges from the void. She creates the world around herself, mired in chaos. Fish and birds are born, and they fight and hunt, unable to get along with each other. The storm is starting. Ilmatar needs to restore harmony and complete the creation of the universe.
