173 Short Films Selected for Anima 2025 in Brussels
Anima 2025, Belgium’s premier animation festival, has officially announced its short film lineup for the upcoming edition, set to take place from February 28 to March 9, 2025. The event will be held at Flagey, Marni, and Cinematek in Brussels, offering a rich program that highlights exceptional works from across the globe.
This year, the festival received over 1,700 submissions, a testament to its international acclaim and influence in the world of animated cinema. After rigorous deliberation, the selection committee has curated a total of 173 short films, which will be presented across three main categories.
The international competition features 85 standout titles, showcasing a diverse array of global talent. Meanwhile, the national competition puts a spotlight on 25 new Belgian films, emphasizing the country’s growing prominence in the animation industry. Additionally, 63 films have been selected for thematic programs, ensuring a variety of genres and perspectives for audiences to explore.
