The Sundance Institute has revealed its highly anticipated lineup of short films for the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, set to run January 23–February 2 in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah. This year’s program, presented by Vimeo, will include 57 short films across eight curated sections, with fiction, nonfiction, and animation entries. A selection of these titles will be available online from January 30–February 2 for nationwide audiences.

Tickets for individual films, both in-person and online, will go on sale January 16, while online passes for short films are currently available on the festival’s official website.

“These projects are varied in style and substance, but across all categories, they represent the power of short-form storytelling beautifully,” said Kim Yutani, Sundance Film Festival’s Director of Programming. Senior Programmer Mike Plante added, “Audiences will find much of the next generation of film talent here, with raw, exciting, and inspired filmmaking from around the world.”

This year’s short film program drew 11,153 submissions, including 4,909 from the U.S. and 6,244 from international creators. The final selection includes films from 28 countries, demonstrating the festival’s ongoing commitment to fostering global independent storytelling.

Among the selected works are U.S. fiction shorts such as “An Almost Successful Dating App Love Story” by Winter Coleman and “The Lily” (เดอะลิลลี่) by Quintessa Swindell. International highlights include “Grandma Nai Who Played Favorites” from Cambodia/France and “Platanero” from Canada.
